Yu Ito

Dr. Yu Ito has been studying aquatic macrophytes’ taxonomy and systematics since his BSc thesis. He has become involved in tropical Asian flora projects as his research focus has expanded from Japan to the world. He has undertaken extensive fieldwork in South and Southeast Asia for a decade including his first trip to Myanmar in 2006 and the latest one in the northwest of peninsular Myanmar in 2017. His contributions to the flora of Myanmar include a series of new records of aquatic plants.
