Norio Tanaka
Dr. Norio Tanaka is a senior curator in the National Museum of Nature and Science, Japan and concurrently serves as the curator of the Tsukuba Botanical Garden of the museum. Since 1995 he has worked on the systematics and phylogeny of aquatic plants, focusing on the evolution of pollination mechanisms, dispersal and conservation. He established the Japan Aquatic Plant Conservation Network in 2007 and has been involved in ex-situ conservation of aquatic plants in botanical gardens.
